SuperM (@SuperM), the super group that consists of representative Kpop idol members, is causing a huge stir on Twitter with their first-ever #KpopTwitter Blueroom.
#SuperM and Twitter conducted an exclusive live Blueroom on the open stage of the SuperM pop-up store in Los Angeles on Oct 7th, 2 pm PT (Oct 8, 6 am KST). Throughout the Twitter livestream session, fans from around the world and the members of SuperM had a lively connection through the real-time Q&A session. Any Kpop fan could freely ask questions by tweeting using the hashtags #TwitterBlueroom and #AsksuperM and SuperM could choose which ones to answer via Twitter. This Twitter Blueroom had over two million total viewers, of which 50% were real-time viewers, breaking a record in viewership throughout the #KpopTwitter Blueroom history.
While the Twitter Blueroom was live, the hashtag #SuperM trended as the first place globally, raising the global awareness on the band. Since August, the month in which SuperM was announced, Twitter has provided a special emoji that uses the band logo of SuperM, to make their fans’ conversations on Twitter more fun for everyone to see. The volume of #SuperM hashtag has exceeded 30 million Tweets globally for a month. Brazil, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Thailand, and USA were within the top 10 countries that Tweeted the most about #SuperM.
Showing gratitude for the love of their fans, the members of #SuperM signed their autographs on the sculpture that was placed in front of the live Blueroom stage. Watch the video of members showing their gratitude towards the fans at the official account of Twitter Korea (@Twitter Korea).
Especially, many fans visited the studio for the live Twitter Blueroom and showed enthusiastic support and cheers for every word spoken by the members of SuperM.
The first question in the Q&A session was, “who would you choose if you guys could switch your bodies with each other?” Baekhyun (@B_hundred_Hyun) answered that he would not switch his body with anyone for the sake of the members; he made a humorous explanation that he has to keep his body to himself since he has the worst body. Taemin answered that he has been asking Lucas to make a “facial exchange,” because he wanted to have the “typical South-American handsomeness.” Lucas gave a big laugh to the fans by respectfully declining the offer.
Another question asked to the band members was to share a funny behind-the-scenes experience that occurred during the filming of the music video. Baekhyun answered that only his face looks chubby in the video because he was the only one who ate delicious food as much as he wanted, while all the other members were on a diet to show their nicest look.
A fan asked a question through the official account of Twitter Korea to Baekhyun, "what was the unforgettable Tweet or a fan that you met on Twitter?” Baekhyun answered that “some fans told me that they teared up after reading my Tweets, and I think those reactions from the fans are the most memorable to me.”
For fans, the Twitter livestream was really a lively and enjoyable experience that they almost felt like they were making eye contact while having a conversation with SuperM. Since this was an experience that all fans from around the world shared, SuperM members looked so passionate and happy.
Even after the livestream was over, many fans actively shared video clips and photos of the event which made the hashtag #SuperM trend on Twitter again. One user posted an on-the-scene video of Ten dancing, Tweeting that “this video is like a VR video that makes you feel as if you see Ten dancing right in front of you” making it one of the most Retweeted and Liked fan Tweet from the event.
