When you open Twitter today you’ll see something new.
Our storytelling platform Moments – the best of what’s happening on Twitter in an instant – is now live in India. Moments can now be made and shared by anyone in India on Twitter so everyone can tell their own story.
Every day Indians share millions of Tweets. Among them are things you can’t experience anywhere else but on Twitter. Whether it’s the biggest debates from Bigg Boss (@BiggBoss), conversations on #Jallikattu, #GST, or around the #GujaratElection, the latest Bollywood sensation #TigerZindaHai or Tamil films like #Mersal, live updates from sporting events, Twitter is the best place to find out what’s happening.
We know that finding and understanding these only-on-Twitter moments can sometimes be a challenge, especially if you don’t follow certain accounts. But it doesn’t have to be.
Moments help you explore and understand the best of Twitter, regardless of who you follow, in an easy-to-use storytelling format. Simply visit the Explore tab in Twitter or Twitter Lite, where you will discover stories unfolding on Twitter every day.
As new stories emerge, we will add new Moments for these stories to your Explore tab. Here’s how they work:
Moments by the Curation team and @MomentsIndia partners across news, entertainment and sports categories will be featured across India in the Explore tab. Some Moments will also be seen around the world in countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia where Moments are already available. This gives Indians the opportunity to tell their stories globally, sharing the wonderful things that happen every day in the country with the rest of the world.
Here are a few examples of Moments by our partners Hindustan Times (@htTweets), Indian Super League (@IndSuperLeague), NDTV (@ndtv), The Indian Express (@IndianExpress) (full list of partners below):
The Indian Twitter community continually surprises us with wonderful storytelling and creativity, so we look forward to seeing new and exciting uses of Moments. Twitter supports 42 languages including six Indic languages: Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil, Gujarati, and Marathi.
