Twitter was the home of all conversation for The #BRITs 2017 on Wednesday night. Artists Tweeted their highlights from dressing rooms, the red carpet, backstage and allowed us to see every side of what was happening throughout the night.
For the fourth year running, a social vote on Twitter determined the ‘Best British Video’ award. @OneDirection took home the statue for their Ben Winston directed ‘History’ music video. Across the night whilst the vote was live, an incredible 1.7m Tweets using the #BRITVOTEONEDIRECTION hashtag were sent.
@Harry_Styles’ thank you message to fans was the most Retweeted post of the night with 177K Retweets and counting..

For the second year at the BRITs, each performer and presenter, along with the late Zaha Hadid designed trophy, received their very own Twitter emoji. Triggered by their bespoke hashtag, these play an instrumental part in the build up to the BRITs and even more especially on the night.
Over 1.4 million Tweets were sent across all the emoji hashtags, with #LittleMixBRITs alone notching up around a quarter of a million mentions

Creators @NikiNSammy played a big part on the red carpet this year, allowing fans unprecedented access to the stars through Twitter. Each artist that walked by was set a challenge, including singing lines from their songs in British accents, impersonating their favourite emojis and showing off their best dance moves.
Moments covered every angle of the night this year, from the winners, the performances, the backstage gossip, even to the moment @KatyPerry brought the house down, no… literally.
