We’re always asking ourselves how we can improve the products that you count on Gnip to deliver. How can Gnip be even more reliable? How can we make valuable new data available? What functionality will help you create a better experience for your customers?

Today, we’re pleased to announce Gnip 2.0, which is a step change in our core API products that will provide opportunities for exciting improvements in each of these areas.

Gnip 2.0 is the result of ongoing efforts by our product and engineering teams to upgrade and improve our core API products using rich new data available in Twitter systems. You’ll have access to new, enhanced versions of our core API products.

We’ll be phasing the migration to Gnip 2.0 products over the next several quarters, beginning with our flagship product, PowerTrack, now available as a public beta. PowerTrack 2.0 features:

  • New data types and enrichments: Build new product experiences and solutions with unprecedented access to new types of data, beginning with additional URL metadata.
  • New operators: Explore and discover Tweets using new operators that enable you to filter on emojis, cashtags, quoted Tweets, and more.
  • New rule capabilities: Further refine your filtering with the ability to build longer, more complex rules to get you to the exact data you need.
  • Even better reliability: We’ve increased the geographic diversity of the systems serving you data to give you even greater confidence you will get every Tweet you need.

We expect to release new 2.0 versions of our core API products over the course of 2016.

If you’d like to take advantage of our PowerTrack 2.0 public beta and be one of the first to get access to new data as we make it available, please contact your Gnip Account Manager or write to [email protected].
