This week’s rankings show just how much video matters, both on the overall Popular and Emerging charts. After @KendrickLamar’s video for “King Kunta” premiered last week, the track came in at #2 on the overall Popular charts. @Sia’s UK single “Big Girls Cry” took #7 on the same chart after her video premiered earlier in the week. And on the emerging side, @Goldlink’s “Sober Thoughts” reached #10 overall, with support from the accompanying video, also premiering last week.
After @NaughtyBoyMusic Tweeted out a @Soundcloud audio card containing a demo for @ZaynMalik’s “I Won’t Mind” featuring himself, the track made it’s way to #5 on the overall Popular charts.
The #1 Popular Debut for this week goes to @Jeremih, whose track “Tonight Belongs To U!” featuring @official_flo, premiered on @VEVO earlier in the week.
Carly Rae Jespen (@CarlyRaeJespen) served as @nbcsnl’s musical guest this past week, helping to drive her track “All That” up to #4 on the Popular Debuts for the week.
