Other notable chart trends in the last seven days include the new @ChrisBrown track “New Flame” which #TeamBreezy dropped on Twitter on Sunday, ”Heavenly Father” by @boniver, streamed on @NPR on Tuesday as part of the soundtrack reveal for @zachbraff’s movie “Wish I Was Here, “GO” from @Grimes, “NaNa” from Trey Songz, whose album “Trigga” came out on Tuesday, and “BO$$” by X-Factor grads @FifthHarmony, who notched #1 just by revealing the cover for the highly-anticipated single.
Emerging artists shine
@RynWeaver’s “Octahate” is gaining love with over 600,000 plays in a week.
R&B singer @TheWeeknd’s racy song “Often” climbed to #1 of the day on Friday.
Professional baseball player and new hitmaker @Mike_Stud rocketed up the chart with “Closer” after the song’s @Pandora premiere.
Music videos matter
Vine superstar @ShawnMendes released his first official music video — exclusively on @TeenVogue — to rapturous reception from his fans. One week later “Life of the Party” is still in the top ten on the chart. @FosterThePeople put out an official video for “Best Friend” and climbed the charts.
@LilyAllen put Internet trolls in their place with her video for “URL Badman.”
