Weird @alyankovic kicked off #8videos8days to garner buzz surrounding his newly released album ‘Mandatory Fun’. This month, music fans sent over 477,000 Tweets mentioning #8Videos8Days and Weird Al’s new album. For eight days, Al used parody videos to debut singles off the new album.

@5SOS released their first album on Tuesday and their song “Amnesia” remained in the top 5 spots on the Popular Chart for over a week.

@TheWeeknd announced his tour with @ScHoolboyQ and @JheneAiko along with a new song “King of the Fall.” The Soundcloud clip amassed over one million plays in two days.

The inaugural Alternative Press Music Awards were Sunday and @AllTimeLow won an award and reached the #1 Trending 140 position for “A Love Like War.”

Emerging artists shine
@boaz412 featured Scarface (@brothermob) on his new track “Hard to Forget It.” The song reached the top spot on the Emerging Chart this week.

Seattle artist @PerfumeGenius released the video for his single “Queen,” which will appear on his third album “Too Bright.” It became @Pitchfork’s “Best New Track” and debuted on the Trending 140 at #3.

Music videos matter
@BeckyG’s acoustic version of “Shower” recharted on the Trending 140. @AustinMahone chimed in to share Becky’s new release with his followers.

@JakeMiller’s followers were thrilled to see his new music video “Coming Home.” Before Jake officially released the track, the song charted.
