Hollywood elite will come together this Sunday for the most prestigious night in showbiz: the Oscars. As the star-studded lineup gathers at the Dolby Theater, they’ll be gathering on Twitter at the same time to give fans and fellow stars at home a peek into their enchanted evenings.
Here are a few ways you can get behind the scenes with all the glitz that Oscar night offers.
#MyOscarPhoto
Fans tuning into the Oscars® “Red Carpet Live” Show on ABC will have a chance to be a part of the high fashion too, from the comfort of their own homes. You can take a picture of yourself and tweet the photo using the hashtag #MyOscarPhoto. Then, you’ll have a chance to see your own photo projected onto a wall built at the red carpet. If your picture is chosen, you’ll get a reply to your original Tweet from @MyOscarPhoto with a photo of a celebrity standing right in front of your picture.
E!’s “Live from the Red Carpet”
This Sunday during E!’s “Live from the Red Carpet” program, @EOnline and @redcarpet will tweet out photos of the stars as they make their way along the famed route. Poptip (@Poptip) has built a custom Twitter Card for E! that lets you cast your “love it” or “leave it” vote for each look with one click, without leaving Twitter, and get real-time results. Throughout the broadcast, E! red carpet hosts will check the poll to see whose look is a hit or miss.
After casting your vote, get even closer to the glamour as E! tweets six-second Vine videos from the stars using a Vine Booth 360 “Fashion Turn” stationed on the red carpet.
Twitter Mirror selfies with @TheAcademy and @SamsungMobileUS
Twitter is amplifying WATCH ABC and Samsung’s Oscars Backstage experience, which provides fans with unparalleled access to the night’s VIPs before and after they hit the stage. Once again, @TheAcademy will use Twitter to bring fans candid celeb selfies straight from the green room Twitter Mirror. Through Twitter’s Amplify program, Samsung will distribute 10 of these backstage selfies in conjunction with ABC’s telecast, extending the Oscars experience to you beyond @TheAcademy followers.
