We’re happy to be hosting @WomenHack’s first event in the Arab region. WomenHack is a global invite-only recruiting initiative for women in tech, where it selects female software developers, UX/UI designers, and product managers from the community.
The event kicked off with an inspirational talk by @Zeina_Soufan who explained how she has connected with interesting women via Twitter, and how the platform has allowed her to reveal the many tones of her voice:
And just like the platform itself, I found myself constantly innovating & experimenting with text, with pictures, with video, and all throughout I enjoyed the freedom & resilience the platform gave me.
It was followed by a sponsor presentation by @Talabat which preceded five minute rapid interviews that took place between more than 30 female candidates and the following companies; @Talabat, @awscloud, @NamshiDotCom, @property_finder, @AlTayyar_Group , @BECOCapital, Al Tayer Group and TASC Outsourcing. The list of employers included both multinational companies and local businesses who were keen to provide equal opportunities to women in their workplace.
We strive to ensure that our workplace and the decisions we make about it are equally inclusive and we look forward to hosting more events to champion diversity in our region.
