Lots of us are lucky to have amazing independent shops on our local high street and while they’re often hidden gems, many are using Twitter in brilliantly innovative ways to let even more people know about them.
In recognition of this, Twitter has joined forces with The Great British High Street (@TheGBHighSt) to launch a new competition category - Best Shop on Twitter.
The competition category is searching for independent shops that are using the Twitter innovatively to promote their business and drive footfall to their local high street.
Members of the public, as well as retailers themselves, can nominate entrants in the ‘Best Shop on Twitter’ category by Tweeting using the hashtag #BestGBTwitterShop and including the @ handle of the shop they are nominating in their Tweet.
The Best Shop on Twitter winner will receive one thousand pounds’ worth of promoted credit on Twitter, as well as a trip to Twitter UK’s London Office to share their Twitter story, alongside the other winners of the Great British High Street Competition 2016, as part of a best practice workshop to boost their Twitter skills and strategies.
