Technology meets food
Nick Birkett, co-founder of London start-up Poncho8, said:
“Food and technology are the two hottest things in London right now.
“As a start-up, we’ve put social media at the heart of our business. It’s where our customers go for recommendations and ideas of new places to eat - we couldn’t have grown our business as fast or as effectively without it.
“Taking part in #RestaurantWeek is a no brainer for us - a fantastic chance to celebrate the industry and we can’t wait to get stuck in.”
Michelin-starred chef Tom Sellers of restaurant ‘Story’ said:
“Twitter plays a key role in all aspects of the food industry but mostly it helps connect me with my audience.”
#RestaurantWeek is being supported by the British Hospitality Association (@BHAtweets), OpenTable (@OpenTableUK) and the Restaurants Association of Ireland (@RAI_ie), and runs from June 2-8.
