With more than six million Tweets sent over the course of the Wimbledon fortnight, SW19 provided another action-packed sporting spectacle in what has been a huge summer for sport on Twitter.

Novak Djokovic (@DjokerNole) took the men’s title, beating Roger Federer (@rogerfederer) and there were one million Tweets about it. (See how the world lit up with Tweets in this interactive map.) Sadly it wasn’t Andy Murray’s year, as he crashed out of the tournament earlier than expected, as did Rafa Nadal.
