The Festival Of Dangerous Ideas (#FODI) brought together leading thinkers, influencers and culture creators from around the world to present contentious ideas that challenge mainstream thought and opinion.
#FODI is part of the year-round @IdeasAtTheHouse program of the @SydOperaHouse. @TwitterAU was proud to partner with the Sydney Opera House this year to showcase the power of the Twitter platform in generating engaging conversation.
Speakers from all over the globe attended #FODI, including many Twitter influencers such as former Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser (@MalcolmFraser12), Cognitive Scientist at Harvard University Steven Pinker (@sapinker), Journalist John Pilger (@johnpilger) and Russian feminist punk rock protest group, Pussy Riot (@pussyrrriot).
Throughout the entire weekend, the @IdeasAtTheHouse team projected Tweets onto 10 screens around the Sydney Opera House using a @Stackla curation tool. Along with the projected Tweets, they featured two giant Twitter hashtags inside the opera house, which told the audience where the conversation was happening and how to participate so their opinions could be heard by those outside the event.
These #FODI Tweet visualisations generated key conversations and opinions, everyone from key speakers to guests attending the sessions.
Throughout the weekend, a range of opinions spread through the #FODI hashtag:
